One of 1990’s most iconic models, Liberty Ross has recently collaborated with LA based denim brand Genetic.
The exclusive 6 piece collection landed exclusively on Net a Porter and Selfridges last Monday. Including a jacket, high- waisted skirt, zippered pants, romper and denim and colour-blocked jeans designed with graphic motifs, strict tailoring and strong geometric prints.
Inspired by her transatlantic upbringing “My life has always been split between London and Los Angeles, and the thread between both in terms of fashion has been denim,” She told V magazine. I love it. To combine my life in LA, growing up in roller rink (my parent’s club) in the 80s and then moving to Portobello Road and the London grunge of the 90s, this collaboration is an expression of all of those influences.”
“I’ve tried to use the knowledge I’ve learned in fittings with incredible designers like Karl Lagerfeld or Tom Ford. You watch how they work and that’s such a privilege,” Liberty said in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar UK. “The lines of the jacket I designed were very much inspired by early McQueen.”
I love the edgy styling with sharp tailoring with bold geometric prints, these pieces are definite show stoppers and speak for themselves.
